Not Particularly Smooth. But Otherwise Nice.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025The acacia wood is very strong, and also beautiful - I enjoy the simple visual of the pronounced gain patterns! What a contrast to the ubiquitous plastic. Being wood, they are friendly on your non-stick pans, yet they have an edge, so you can still do some scraping for stubborn residue in your stainless pans. They are true to the dimensions given (which is larger than I envisioned). The slotted one has the flattest edge. It also has the hanging hole misplaced by a full 1/4 inch which is annoying for some of us, but is has no real effect aside from the visual jarring...it still hangs in line with it's mate. For that matter, it could be deliberate to make it hand straight since wood has sections with more and less density.
The slots might be hard to clean if you use them on something gooey (the slots and the holes are straight cuts with no chamfering or rounding). The handles are smooth and comfortable to hold with (apparently) hand rounded edges.
Besides using these on your pans while cooking, they could also be used as large salad tongs.
I am very happy with mine.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2025These are classy-looking, semi-glossy wooden spatulas. They are stiff and have no give to them.
I've been using these for the last month and they will look and feel like new, so I'm pretty happy with the durability so far.
One question in my mind is whether they have some kind of coating on them. It's difficult for me to tell, but from what I can see from the drilled hanging holes, it doesn't look like there's evidence of any unnatural coating. Perhaps just a little oil (hopefully food safe!) to give some water-resistance.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2025The first thing I noticed about these was that the surface is not particularly smooth.
I have a number of wooden utensils, and the surface of these feels about as rough as the classic unfinished "beige" wooden spoons.
It is not a deal breaker, but it was certainly unexpected, especially from utensils that look as nice as these do.
If these were sanded a bit smoother, these would be excellent. As is, they are nice, but just feel unfinished.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2025This is my review for 2 Pack Wooden Spatula, Acacia Wood Long Handle Flat Frying Turner, Handmade wooden spoons for cooking, Kitchen Utensil set, Non-Stick Cooking Spurtle Utensils for kitchen use. Okay, so you just threw out your plastic cooking utensils because they're toxic and what do you use now to cook with? THESE. Buy them. They are really attractive pieces of wood. Very pretty on display in your kitchen. They work great. The finish is sealed with something and requires hand washing, however they clean up easily. I'm buying some more. Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2025I am so impressed with these "2 Pack Wooden Spatula, Acacia Wood Long Handle Flat Frying Turner" because it's hard to find thin, but still good quality wooden utensils. I am trying to rid myself of all plastic utensils and since I have a decent collection of wooden ones, now, I hesitated on these, but I'm glad I got them. These are so much thinner than some of my other spatulas. The quality of wood and construction is great. I feel like they need a finer sanding, but that's my own preference because I sand and oil all of my utensils so they are super smooth. They certainly aren't rough by any means. Happy I got them! They are lovely and are a fantastic addition to my kitchen.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2025I'm trying to upgrade cooking utensils in my kitchen, trying to avoid nylon and or low quality wood that would get food stuck in pores.
These ones are great, and they look very nice. They are sturdy, but their surface feels very smooth, which makes cleaning them very easy (I have some older wooden spatulas where you can feel the pores, removing food from those can be quite challenging).

- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2025These are very lightweight and on the thin side which makes them feel cheap. Some of the edges are rough like the wood wasn't finished properly. I don't see these lasting very long. They have a nice look to them but seem like they would do better just being on display rather than using them.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2025As we move to wooden utensils from black utensils and most silicone for non-stick cookware, I've been searching for and trying different wooden spatulas and turners. These are as beautiful and well shaped and contoured as any I have tried. They're gorgeous and look like the pictures in the description. They're solid, no cracks, no lines and are ergonomic.
But if you feel along the surface anywhere, they're consistently a little rough and unfinished feeling, like wood fibers are protruding out. You can't see them, but you can feel them, so pictures won't show it.
If they were wet sanded with 400 grit sandpaper (by me), then I think they'd be where I want them to be. But that's extra work I don't feel I should have to do. True, not everything for food preparation (molcajete) or cooking (cast iron) can be used properly right out of the box, but I think these wooden utensils should be ready after a quick hand wash out of the box. I will sand these because other than this, they're that good, easy to handle, functional, easy on the eyes.
